Amelia (Courteau) Stende

Stende Amelia (Courteau), age 99 of Coon Rapids, left the body peacefully on Dec. 23rd, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by husband, Rueben; and brothers, Lee, George, Amie, Darwin; sisters, Lillian and Ethel. Survived by daughter, Gwen (Rick) Reiter of Coon Rapids; son, Greg (Janet) Stende of Shoreview; granddaughters, Carey and Molly; grandson, Kurt; great-granddaughters, Ashley and Ava; brothers, Orel; sister, Antionette; many nieces, nephews and friends. A teacher who married a teacher, she lived a long and full life. When she first taught school it was in western North Dakota in a one-room rural school that she reached by riding 8 miles on horseback. Her last days were spent at Camilia Rose Nursing Home in Coon Rapids. Heartfelt gratitude is less than what should be expressed to the staff for their exemplary care given while she lived there. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, 11 AM, Epiphany Catholic Church, 11001 Hanson Blvd, Coon Rapids. Visitation 1 hour prior to service only. Interment St. Edward's Cemetery, Princeton, MN.
