Joanne L. Pehler
Pehler Joanne L. Pehler (``Joney''), age 73, died December 21, 2001, after a long battle with cancer. Originally from Pine City, MN, she was a long-time resident of Minneapolis. After graduation from Vassar College, she was employed by the U.S. State Department, serving in Embassies in Paris and the Philippines. On her return to Minnesota, she worked for Donaldson's Department Store and then joined the Training Department at Dayton's. She worked in various administrative assistant positions in the Dayton Hudson (now Target) Corporation, retiring in 1993. She was confirmed into the Episcopal Church at Notre Dame in Paris and was a member of Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Mpls.; in recent years she attended Central Lutheran Church where she was an active volunteer in the Coat Closet Program. There are no known family survivors and, at her request, there will be no memorial service. A gathering of friends is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Episcopal Church Home in St. Paul, Gethsemane Episcopal Church, Central Luther Church Coat Closet or American Cancer Society
