Hartley Edmund Junnila
Junnila Hartley Edmund, age 77, of Milaca, MN, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 from complications of an aortic aneurysm. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Signe; sons, John (Barb) of Billings, MT, Bill (Mary) of Lutsen, MN; daughters, Linda Riviere of Mpls, Brenda (Mike) Doty of Milaca, MN and Wanda (Jeff) Withington of Crystal, MN; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bernhardt and sister, Helen. He was born in 1925 in Virginia, MN, graduated from high school, and attended Virginia Junior College. He served in WWII in the Army of Occupation in Tokyo, Japan. He married Signe Autio on Sept. 28, 1947. Hartley was a business owner of Harben's Dept. Store in Grand Rapids, MN for 30 years. He also was past president of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was currently a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Milaca. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with family. He appreciated literature, music and travel. ``Our father was a kind, generous, patient man. We feel blessed to have been loved so completely by him.'' Funeral service 1 pm Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Milaca. Friends may call at 12 noon at the church. A private interment will take place later in Virginia, MN. Arr. with Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca.
