Fisher Lyla V., 97, passed away on December 17, 2001 at her home in the Jones-Harrison Residence in Minneapolis. She was born in Northwood, North Dakota on August 12, 1904 to Peter and Mathilda Glasrud. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of North Dakota in June 1926 and spent a number of years as a teacher in North Dakota. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Fisher; and a son, James D. Fisher. She is survived by a son, Richard A. Fisher, his wife, Marcia; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Fisher; grandsons, Richard Fisher Jr. (Terry Lynn) and Steven A. Fisher (Amy Jo); granddaughter, Susan Kaul (Chris); and 4 great-grandchildren, Brenda Jane Fisher, Betsy Ann Fisher, Steven S. Fisher and Erin Rainy Fisher. Lyla was a member of Chapter BQ of P.E.O. for more than 60 years and a member of Mayflower Church. Her family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the kind and thoughtful care provided by the staff of Jones-Harrison Residence where she lived for more than 6 years. A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 21 at 1:00 PM at Jones-Harrison Residence, 3700 Cedar Lake Avenue, Mpls., MN 55416.
