James Louis Sioris, age 86, of Edina, went to be with the Lord on 12/9/02 surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by parents, and brother, Theodore. Survived by loving wife, Daphne, of 52 years; sons, Leo & wife Cheryl, George & wife Fotini; grandchildren, Jimmy, Kelly, Daphne, Panos and Nektaria; brother, John & wife Lola and sister, Katina Kritsonis; aunt, Theodora Pavlopoulos and cousins in Greece; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was raised in the village of Issari, Greece, came to America at age 19, worked 40 years at the VA Hospital, Mpls. Lifelong member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA, American Legion Hellenic Post, Senior Citizens and an active volunteer in many religious and public organizations. Jim will always be remembered for his love of Greek dancing (OPA!), music, life and dedication to his family. Service 2 PM Thursday (TODAY), with visitation one hour prior at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Ave S., Mpls. Special thanks to the Paul & Pauline Peters extended family, the staff at Walker Methodist Home (6th Floor Gamble) and all the family, relatives and friends. Memorials preferred to the Church.
