Thomas Leigh Roberts
Roberts Thomas Leigh Roberts, age 64, of Stone Lake, WI, died Thursday, December 5, 2002 at his home after a valiant two year struggle with pancreatic cancer. Thomas Leigh was born on November 20, 1938 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, the son of Leigh and Gladys Roberts. He attended the University of Minnesota, served in the Army Reserves, and loyally worked 32 years for Leslie Paper in Minneapolis, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Minot and Bismarck, ND and LaCrosse, WI. He retired nine years ago to Long Lake in northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed golfing, manicuring his lawn, reading, and visiting with many old and new friends. His closest buddy was his Golden Retriever, Chelsea, as well as Kirby the cat, whom he secretly loved. Tom is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Jeff (Kay) and Gregg (Natalia); one daughter, Jennifer; two grandsons, Ethan and Ryan; one sister, Marge (Tim) Ammend; one brother, Jim (Danette) Roberts; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear and caring friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14 at the United Methodist Church in Hayward, WI, with Pastor Paul Yoder officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Hayward United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
