Carole Dorothy Dye was born on April 1, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN to Gladys Lander Dye and William Louis Carroll Dye, Sr. Carole was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Blackstone; her parents; her brother, James Howard Dye Sr.; her nephew, James Howard Dye Jr.; her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank (Mattie) Lander; her brother, James Andrews; her aunts, Christabelle Banham, Ernestine Perry and Dorothy Jones, whom she was named after, and her step-daughter, Sandra Turner. Carole graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. Carole worked at Honeywell, where she recently retired from after 37 years. Carole was married to George W. Blackstone for 15 years until his death. Carole loved to cook, and she was an excellent cook. Carole was also an avid reader and could polish off a crossword puzzle or a cryptoquip in record time. Carole was a lifelong member of St. James A.M.E. Church, and she was also a member of Pride of the West Chapter #9, Order of the Eastern Star. Carole is survived by her son, Stephen Dye; her daughter-in-law, Karla; her grandchildren, Anquanita and DeAngelo, all of Minneapolis, MN; her step-children, Larry Blackstone, Glenda Hamilton, Michael Blackstone, Steven Blackstone, and Gary Blackstone, and their mother, Flo Blackstone, all of Omaha, NE; her sisters, M. Denise (William) Richardson, Mary Ann Miller, Joyce L. Dye, and Sharon L. Dye; her brothers, Robert K. (Vivienne) Dye, William L. Dye Jr., Frank G. Dye Sr., and Michael L. Dye; her sister-in-law, Olivia Dye; her aunt, Verna M. (Walker) Groce, all of Minneapolis, MN; her aunt, Frankie (Jewel) Jones of Cheyenne, WY and a host of additional relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2002 from 5-8 pm, with O.E.S. Services at 6 pm and funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2002 at 11 am, both services will be held at St. James A.M.E. Church at 3600 Snelling Avenue South in Minneapolis, MN. Arr. by Estes Funeral Chapel.
