Robb John Donald Robb, age 81, Director of Lightning and Transient Research Institute, Mpls. died November 7th. Survived by wife of 57 years, Lois Jackson Robb; brother, James A. Robb Jr.; as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces. Predeceased by parents, James A. & Marion Robb; and brothers, Volney & Gordon. Known as Don to his family and John to his business associates, he attended University High in Mpls., and after graduation enrolled at Northwestern University where he received a degree in electrical engineering. Was widely known as an authority in the field of lightning and atmospheric phenomena and their effects on aircraft, missles and computers. Served as a consultant to major aircraft companies, computer companies and N.A.S.A. During World War II he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and later often flew his own plane on business and recreational trips. He was an avid skier, played the piano and enjoyed travel. Services will be at ``U'' Good Samaritan Center, #22, 27th Ave SE Mpls., Thurs., Nov. 29th at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to University Good Samaritan Center.
