Bishop LeRoy V. ``Roy'', age 81, of Wayzata. Former 44-year resident of Shorewood. Born April 7, 1921, died Oct. 30, 2002. Roy graduated from Mpls Vocational High School with a certificate in tailoring. He retired in 1986 from Hoigard's Inc. after 25 years of service. Roy was a member of the MN Territorial Pioneers. He was particularly proud that his grandfather, Thornton Bishop, came to MN prior to statehood and married a Chippewa woman, Adelia (Equay-We-Dok) and farmed in the Sunrise area. Roy's other memberships included the MN State Historical Society and the Teamsters Union. Preceded in death by parents, Jefferson Delmont Bishop & Ruth (Holmberg) Bishop; brothers, Woodrow, Pete and Einer and sisters, Grace, Irene, Sydney and Ebba; and son, John Delmont Bishop. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen; daughter, Jan (Jerry) Ernst of Prior Lake; sons, Jeff (Marie) Bishop of Minnetrista and Joel (fiancee Cindy Kubu) Bishop of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Jason Ernst, Tina, Connor and Hunter Bishop; sisters, Bernice ``Bunny'' Billison of Maplewood and Pearl Bishop of CA; many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at 10 am, Huber Funeral Home Chapel, 520 2nd St., Excelsior. Private family interment, Sunrise Cemetery, Sunrise, MN.
