Chayka Dorothy K., passed away Oct. 29, 2002 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 88. She was born Sept. 20, 1914 in San Antonio to Harry & Emma (Bulgerin) Kramme. Mrs Chayka lived in Mpls for over 20 years where she was active in the Prince of Glory Lutheran Church. She had a beautiful soprano voice and for many years she sang in the choir and served on various committees. Later she and her husband moved to San Antonio and was active at Shepherd King Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working with ceramics and genealogy studies. She and her husband loved to travel both by car and by train having visited all 48 states and many parts of Canada. Preceded in death by husband, John C. Chayka in 1992; sister, Erna K. Herbsleb; brother, Harry C. Kramme Jr. and nephew, Charles K. Kramme. Survived by nephews, John Matyi Jr. & wife Sandy of El Paso, TX, Tim Matyi & wife Elaine of Edina, MN, Robert C. Herbsleb & wife Kassandra of San Antonio, TX; nieces, Mary Sue Matyi of Las Vegas, NV, Linda Kramme; numerous grand nephews & nieces. Funeral service 11 am Friday, Nov. 1 at Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio. Entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel No. 2.
