Andersen Evelyn E. (Gertz). Born Sept. 27, 1914 in Davenport, Iowa. Spent early years at Lindbergh Farm in Little Falls and moved to Wood End Farm on Lake Minnetonka for a number of years. Graduated from Mound High School. Married Carlo Andersen October 7, 1937, in Maple Plain. Lived most of her adult life in Willmar. Served her community in a variety of positions including State Offices in both the PTA & Girl Scouts. Former Sunday School Superintendent at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. She also formerly served long terms on The City of Willmar's Planning Commission & Zoning Appeals Board. Employed for more than twenty years as an Executive Secretary for the President of Willmar Poultry Company. Preceded in death by husband, Carlo Andersen in 1993; parents, Gus & Alma Gertz; sisters, Zella Berglund & Marion Alger and brother, Alvin Gertz. Survived by a son, Dennis Andersen of St. Cloud; a daughter, Donna (Kent) Olson of Buffalo; grandchildren, Jill Andersen of Burnsville, Eric (Sheryl) Andersen of St. Cloud, Christian Andersen of Minneapolis, Elizabeth Olson of Kansas, Missouri & Emily Olson of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Elsie Gertz of Merrifield; brothers-in-law, Howard Alger of Maple Plain & Egon Andersen of Wayzata; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may call TODAY at the funeral home 6-8 PM. Interment 2:15 PM Saturday, Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
