Arnott J. Lee, age 94. Born April 10, 1908, died peacefully on September 24, 2002. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter A. & Lillie (Grimsrud) Lee; five siblings and son, Lawrence. Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Esther; daughter, Marilyn (Gene) Richardson; son, Peter (Janis); 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and sister, Valborg. Formerly of Richfield and recently a resident of St. Therese in Hopkins, he was born in Brocket, North Dakota in 1908. Arnott graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1926 and from the University of North Dakota in 1930 with a bachelor's degree in mining engineering. He was employed for 39 years in sales and marketing executive positions by Joy Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1973. He founded a manufacturer's representative firm, Arnott J. Lee & Associates and continued to call upon his friends in the mining and construction equipment industry until, reluctantly, he retired again at age 80. He married the love of his life, Esther Piller, in 1934 and together they raised their family. They moved 27 times throughout his career. During the Depression, Arnott and Esther provided housing and assistance to their many siblings. Their travels took them to Claremont, NH, Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, Falls Church, VA, and Huntington, WV before settling in Minneapolis. Arnott was a kind, caring, loving and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather. He was a respected mentor to family and friends and an admirable man. Memorials preferred to Minneapolis Childrens' Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 11 AM at Werness Brothers Chapel, 3500 W. 50th Street, Mpls.
