Ruth S. North

North Ruth S., 86, of Bella Vista, died Wed., Sept. 4, 2002 at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James C. North, in 1998. She was born April 8, 1916 in Hale, MO to Frank E. Slater & Florence Moore Slater. She attended Columbia College and the Univ. of Missouri where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She and her husband moved to Bella Vista in 1972 from Mpls. Mrs. North was a founding member of the BO Chapter of P.E.O. in Bella Vista, and had been affiliated with P.E.O. for over 60 years. She had been a member of Organ Belles. She enjoyed needlework and was an active volunteer in Mpls. She and her husband were avid motorhomers and were active members of the Arkansas Travelers and Rollin' Oakies Chapters of Family Motorcoach Assoc. She was a member of Bella Vista Community Church. Survivors include 3 sons, Robert S. North & wife Noralu of Bella Vista, William A. North & wife Marilyn of Edmond, OK, John H. North & wife Mary of Charles, IL; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 1 PM Mon., Sept. 9, 2002 at the Bella Vista Community Church, with the Rev. David McKay officiating. Interment in the Benton County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in memory of Ruth S.
