Robert T. Whelan

Whelan Robert T., age 89, of Golden Valley. Survived by wife of nearly 70 years, Evelyn; sons, James Whelan (Kathy Gurtin), Robert Whelan, Jr., Patrick Whelan (Vera); 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Horan, Teresa Hafits; many nieces and nephews. Robert was involved in movie theatres all his life, starting as a teenage usher in Sioux City, IA at RKO Theatre. Most recently with General Cinema Corp. as Regional Manager. Everyone in the family looked up to Robert as the strength of the family and he will be missed by all. Memorial Mass Friday 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Margaret Mary, Golden Valley Road & Theo Wirth Pkwy, Golden Valley. Interment Gethsemane Mausoleum. Memorial gathering Thursday 4 to 7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 39th & West Broadway, with a Rosary at 7 PM. Memorials to American Lung Association. Gearty-Delmore 763-537-4511
