Kortmeyer Gloria C., age 75, of Andover, formerly of Anoka. Her creative energy and enthusiasm will be missed by all family and friend who knew her. She attended elementary school in Brentford, SD, graduated high school from Aberdeen, SD. She graduated with honors from Huron College, earned an MA at the University of MN, and taught at the U of M while earning her Ph.D. She taught K-College, as well as Elderhostel classes, over a period of 45 years. Retired professor from Bethel College where she chaired the Education Dept. until her retirement. After retirement, she delighted in giving presentations as Laura Ingalls Wilder to a wide range of audiences. She was devoted to her church and through the years served it in many capacities. Her family was the joy of her life and she treasured many friendships. In 1967, she was chosen to represent Minnesota educators as Teacher of the Year. She is survived by her husband, Howard; duaghter & son-in-law, Sue & Dan Dehnicke; grandsons, Adam and Drew (Katie). Funeral service Tuesday, 6 pm, Zion Lutheran Church, 4th & Adams St., Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to service at church only. Inurnment Morningside Cemetery. Memorials requested for Zion Foundation and North Residential Hospice in lieu of flowers. GEARHART 763-421-4347
