Lolita Y. Woo
Woo Lolita Young. The family of Lolita Woo announces with great sadness Lolita's passing on August 6, 2002. She was 94 years young. Born in Yakima, WA, Lolita came to Minneapolis in her early 20's. Here she met and married Howard F. Woo, her husband of more than 70 years. Together, Lolita and Howard owned and operated one of Minneapolis' landmark Chinese restaurants at 6th & Hennepin called John's Place until its closing in 1968. Lolita leaves behind many friends, family, and extended family whose lives were graced by her always-pleasant smile, genuine kindness and concern for others. She is survived by her husband, Howard; daughter, Barbara Woo Wong of Sun City West, AZ; grandsons, John (Lora) of Seattle, WA, Stephen (Kris) of Tacoma, WA, Michael (Sharon) of Vancouver, WA, David of Kent, WA, Jeffrey (Mechelle) of Des Moines, WA, and 4 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Calder, Danielle and Rebecca. Visitation hours are scheduled for 3-7 pm Saturday, August 10 at Washburn-McReavy Welander Quist Davies Chapel, 2301 Dupont Ave S. at Hennepin. A memorial service is scheduled for 3 pm Sunday, August 11 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Nicollet Mall at 12th St. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery.
