Moore Arthur Phillip, beloved father, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 10:04 am at Unity Hospital in Fridley. Born October 23, 1917, first child of Arthur Phillip Moore, Sr. and Alice Victoria Norblom in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Alice; by his brothers, Donald E. and Robert D. Moore, and by his sister, Jean E. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Helen Mary (Grattan) Moore; by children, Timothy & wife Connie Moore, Gregory & wife Colleen Moore, Patricia Moore, Debra Moore and Barbara (Moore) & husband Leslie A. Gilbertson; by grandchildren, Jeremy & wife Krista Moore, Nicole Moore, Kathryn (Moore) & husband Kurt Genereux, Heather, Sara-Bridget and Sean Moore, Ashley, Lynsey and Kelsey Gilbertson; and by his sister, Lois Jones; as well as many nieces and nephews. Art was employed for 20+ years at Brown & Bigelow and was a pioneer in the computer programming industry. He retired from Honeywell in 1982 where he worked as a computer scientist. Art was an avid golfer, he loved swimming, playing cards, building projects and working in his yard. Just hours after playing his last round of golf, he was admitted to the hospital, where 19 days later he passed away. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Thursday, August 1 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton (651-633-8333). Visitation 9:30 am to time of Mass Thursday in church. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Mpls. Lunch at church follows interment. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc. on behalf of his granddaughter, Kelsey Gilbertson.
