Hanson Thomas Charles, age 79, of Bloomington. Born November 10, 1922 in Faribault, MN to Joseph A. Hanson and Lucille Caron Hanson who have preceded him in death. Tom died after a long, courageous battle with emphysema on July 19. Survived by wife, Margaret and their children Greg and wife Carol, and their children, Dr. Chad Hanson and wife Lynn, Jessica, Dalton and Kyle Hanson; Matthew Weldon and wife Christa, Norma Lopez, Rosalinda Lopez and Anastasia Ibanez; David and wife Debbie; daughter, Mary and her children Shawn, Jennifer and Kevin Williams; son, Chris; son, Tim and wife Laurie and their children, Josh, Brianna, Brandon Serpico, Kayla and MacKenzie and daughter, Ann Haack and her children, Jason, Meaghan and Erin Haack; son, Bill and wife Sandie and their children, Andrew, Samantha and Daniel; also survived by soon to be born, great-grandson, Ethan Patrick Weldon; brothers, Joseph and Dr. Daniel Hanson. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1947. He loved to fly and was a flight instructor for the Navy during WWII. He was owner of Thomsas C. Hanson Companies of Savage. He was a special Gramps to his grandchildren, making each one of them a special keepsake from his workshop at the farm. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends including The Bahama Eight who knew him to be a prince of a guy. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 23, 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave S., Bloomington. Private interment Fort Snelling.
