Nelson, David 57, of Plymouth, MN, (Previously of New York City and San Francisco) died April 8, 2015, while on a cross country trip to visit family and friends and to explore the beauty of God's creation. He was a Graduate of the University of Minnesota. He owned and managed rental properties for a number of years and worked briefly in the area of finance. David was a gifted writer and artist and pursued these areas as his primary work focus. He was an avid hiker, canoeist, and photographer and an accomplished guitarist who cherished time spent with his loving family throughout his lifetime. David enjoyed time with the many friends he held dear who shared his love of nature and his intellectual and spiritual interests. The influence of his kind and loving manner and his quiet and thoughtful presence will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father Duane. He is survived by his mother Jeanette, sister Lynnette (Tom) Heinzen, and brother Daniel (Julie) Nelson, a niece Christina Heinzen (Eric) Hansen, and nephews Alexander (Jo) and Zachary Heinzen, and Ezekiel, Zechariah, Malachi and Micah Nelson, and extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Vision of Glory Lutheran Church, 13200 Highway 55, Plymouth, MN.
