Martin, Donald A. Don Martin, age 85, longtime resident of St. Louis Park, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 12, 2006 from a traumatic brain injury. He was born March 8, 1921 in Minneapolis. He graduated from St. Louis Park, High School and earned his BA in teaching at St. Cloud State University, formerly known as St. Cloud Teacher's College. He later earned his MA in teaching from the University of MN. He was a Lieutenant in WWII and served as a cryptographer. He later taught math for many years at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. He encouraged and instilled this life long love of education in all of his children. He married Jean Mosher in 1942, was widowed in 1973 and later married Ardis Seelinger in 1975. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes, fishing, gardening, all Minnesota sports and was adept with all things mechanical. Following his retirement he visited all 48 states in the continental United States touring on his BMW motorcycle. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Ardis Martin; his brother, Robert (Verna)Martin; his children, Archer (June) Martin, Vicki (James) Bliss, Lauren (Greg) Behl, Genevieve (Cliff) Hale, Geoff (Sarah) Seelinger, Tim (Deborah) Seelinger; by 11 grandchildren who adored him and by 4 nieces and nephews.
