Finnegan Karen L., age 55, of Coon Rapids, succumbed to ovarian cancer on July 3, 2002 while surrounded by her family at home following a courageous 19 month battle. Born April 22, 1947 in Moline, IL, Karen moved to Mpls. in 1971. She married Paul Finnegan of Coon Rapids in 1977. Karen worked for Honeywell of Mpls. for more than 30 years. Her most treasured times were gatherings of family and friends at their lakehome in Crosslake, MN where she loved to fish, boat, swim and just have fun. The family offers sincere thanks to Dr. Patricia Judson Gynecologic Oncology, University of MN, and wishes to acknowledge the care and support given by the staff of the Women's Health Center at the U of M. Karen was preceded in death by father, Paul Brecht. She is survived by loving husband, Paul; daughter, Molly; son, Jon; step-daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Tim Beatty of Burnsville; mother, Francine Brecht of Moline, IL; brother & sister-in-law, Gary & Barbara Brecht of Bettendorf, IA; mother-in-law, Eva Finnegan; step-granddaughters, Brittany & Taylor Beatty; special close friends, Gail (Hoffman) and J.D. Taylor of Prior Lake; many other relatives and lifelong friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church, 11001 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Friday 5-8 PM at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, W. Main St & Branch Ave., Anoka.
