Martin Attn: Teamsters Local 638.Timothy Edward Martin, 60 years young, born November 25, 1942, went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 25, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He passed away peacefully in the knowledge that he was loved by many. He was preceded in death by parents, Barbara and Ernie Martin; and brother, Tom Martin. Tim is survived by loving wife, Nancy; and devoted children, Kelly Krider and her friend, Greg Lewis; son, Tim, and his wife Alanna, and son Patrick, and his fiance, Kathy Finnegan; six beautiful grandchildren, Max, Anthony, Kayla, Timothy "TJ," Anna, and Connor; siblings, Barbara Sarkis, Kevin Martin, Greg (Debbie) Martin, Mary Martin and Andrea Junkers; sisters-in-law Joan Martin and Betty Holsten; nieces and nephews; aunt Gert and uncle Mike Novicki and cousins. Also survived by many close and loving friends. Tim was a dedicated employee of the Star Tribune and a proud Union member for 30 years. Tim had a ready smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He took great pride in coaching boy's football, hockey and baseball with his long-time friend and best buddy, Jim Benedict. He loved travel, golf, movies, gardening and getting together with family and friends. He was a self-taught carpenter and all-around handyman. He would often retreat to his basement workshop and then re-emerge later with a project or handy device, of his own ingenuity and craftsmanship, in hand. He was truly a unique individual who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and the joy they brought to his life. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him and his spirit will remain in our hearts forever. The family wishes to thank their Holy Name Family, the University of Minnesota ALS clinic, Dr. Parry and the ALS clinic staff, Dr. Cheung, Fairview Oxboro Clinic, Bob Grider, Minnesota Voice and Speech, Martin Luther Manor Senior Day Center, Fairview Southdale Hospital and Fairview Hospice and the nurses & staff at N.C.
