Frick Donna R., Born January 26, 1948. Danced off into the sunset of her life on July 25, 2003. Donna's strength and courage throughout her five year ordeal with melanoma was an inspiration to everyone she encountered along the way. Survived by long-time partner and soul mate, Nancy Cordy; their beloved dog, Lily; and a wealth of friends. Also survived by sister, Naomi Berland (Ted) of Goodhue, MN; and father, Donald Frick of Mantorville, MN. Preceded in death by her mother. Ruth Frick; and Sophie, Donna's faithful canine companion. Donna's curiosity to discover what was down each new road lead to a passion for travel. She loved nature, animals, skiing, snow shoeing and was an aspiring chef. She never "lost her sense of wonder" or "settled for the path of least resistance". Those of us who shared in her passions will miss her contagious laughter and never forget our Tall Woman Laughing. Memorials preferred to Hennepin County Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley, MN or The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203. A special thank you to the compassionate and loving staff at North Memorial Residential Hospice who really understand the true meaning of family and the comfort in a hug. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
