Sackter Raymond L., age 85 of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of St. Louis Park, passed away on his own terms, with no regrets, on July 24, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Toby; sister, Sue (Brenner); son, Sanford (Wanda); granddaughter, Allison Ray; and many relatives and friends. He was born in Mpls and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Horticulture. He served proudly with the U.S. Army - 10th Mountain Division in WWII. Upon his return, he founded Dundee Nursery, which he owned for 42 years until retirement. He was an active member of the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Assoc., where he served as President form 1979 to 1980. He also served on the Board of Directors at the University of Minnesota - Landscape Arboretum. He skied and played racquetball into his late 60s, and became an avid golfer in retirement. He was a man of integrity, conviction and innovation, who was regarded with admiration and respect by everyone he knew. Through his dedication to horticulture and landscaping, he strove to make the world around us a more beautiful, enjoyable place to live. He will be deeply missed. Funeral services MONDAY, 11 AM, TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2324 Emerson Ave S, Mpls. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318-9613.
