Carol Louise Westerman Prchal

Prchal Carol Louise Westerman Prchal, 6/17/30 6/30/2002. Born to Dr. AE and Louise (Bruno) of Montgomery, MN, Carol attended St. John's Lutheran Church and graduated in 1948 from the Montgomery schools. She attended the U of M nursing program, transferring to Fairview Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN in August 1952. On Sept. 6th of that year, Carol married Gordon Prchal, also of Montgomery. Together they raised their children in SE Mpls., St. Louis Park, and Golden Valley. She was employed as a RN at the U of M Hospital, old Abbott Hospital, and retired from Abbott Northwestern of Mpls. after 30 years. Carol is survived by their children's father, Gordon Prchal; son, Lee (Cheryl) Prchal and their son Tom Burns; daughter, Mary Kay (Skip) Young and their children Nathan, Kathryn and Rebecca; and son, David (Jeanne) Prchal and their children Steven and Ben. She is also survived by her brother, Karl (Muriel) Westerman of Mpls.; cousins, Jean (Harry) Smith of Gallatin, TN and E. Louise Westerman of Montgomery; along with 3 nieces and 3 nephews; and sister-and brother-in-law, Alice and Art Aamodt. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, Louise and Bessie Prchal. Carol was grateful for and blessed to have many friends from every part of her life. In recent years, Lois Jenson was particulary supportive. Memorial service will be at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 500 So. Blake Rd., Edina, on Tuesday (TODAY), July 2 at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception at the church. Private interment in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery, MN. Memorials preferred to Shepherd of the Hillas, or donor's choice.
