Philip D. Perkins
Perkins Philip D. Perkins, age 55, of Minnetonka. Born May 13, 1948, passed away on July 21, 2003. Philip's deep faith grew after his diagnosis in 1996 of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Central in his life was his love for his wife of 34 years, Jeanne, and his Labradors. He was a genuinely good person, compassionate, wise, funny, open and honest. Many recognize that he set the standard for what is right and fair both in life and in business. Philip spent over 30 years in the retail drug industry with Snyder Drug Stores, Inc. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Rose Perkins; sister, Eugenia Perkins and father-in-law, Carlton Christenson. Immediate survivors include brother, David Perkins; sisters, Kathleen Juntilla and Elizabeth Severson; mother-in-law, Marian Christenson; sisters- in-law, JoAnn Christenson and Judy Christenson; brothers-in-law, John Christenson and Jim Christenson, and many nieces & nephews. Services will be held at the Basilica of St. Mary, 88 N. 17th St., Mpls., on Monday, July 28. Visitation will be at 4:30 PM, mass at 6 PM and reception at 7 PM. Private interment. If so desired, contributions in Philip's memory may be made to the Basilica of St. Mary Endowment Fund or the C.G. & M.E. Christenson Endowment Scholarship Fund c/o Bethel Seminary.
