Roland Phillip (Roly) Ponath
Ponath Roland (Roly) Phillip of Isanti. Born Feb. 7, 1914 in Young America, MN and died July 18, 2003. Survived by children, Ronn (Diane) Ponath, Mary (Gary) Hanley and Julie (Craig) Whiting; 7 grandchildren, Dan-el (Lori) Ponath, Derek Ponath, Dustine (Shane) Callahan, Gretchen Hanley, Heidi (Chris) Matt, Elizabeth Whiting and Chadborne Whiting; 2 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Zachhary Ponath; 3 sisters, Mildred Nimz, Lorna Ecklund, Melva (Donald) Peterson; brother, Melvin (Joan) Ponath. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine and son Russell. Roland was proud of his over the road bus driving career. He had no accidents and only one speeding ticket. He was an avid angler and fishing guide in Canada. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling in his RV, snowmobiling, dancing and photography. Memorials are suggested to North Memorial Residential Hospice. Funeral 10:30 AM Tues. at the Strike Funeral Home - Isanti Chapel (763-444-5212). Visitation Mon. (TODAY) from 5-8 PM. Interment Isanti Union Cemetery.
