Subby Margaret R., age 83, of Plymouth, passed away June 27, 2002. Preceded in death by parents; son, Richard Lathrop and his father, Richard H. Lathrop. Margaret graduated from Central High School in St. Paul. After high school she attended 2 years at Carleton College in Northfield. She married Richard H. Lathrop in 1940 and gave birth to her eldest son, Richard in 1941. She was widowed in 1942. Soon after WWII she met and married Walter Subby, M.D., her loving husband and constant companion of 56 years. Margaret attained a B.F.A. from Augsburg College and M.S.W.A from the U of M. She was a pioneer in the field of chemical dependency. She was a founder of A.I.D. for Hennepin County and went on to become Assistant County Administrator in charge of Human Services for Scott County until her retirement in 1985. Margaret is survived by her husband, Dr. Walter Subby; her children, Pam, Robert (Anne) Subby, Cynthia (David) Bright, Candace (Greg) Gonzales; grandchildren, Jason, Sara, Andrew, Alex and Austin; great-grandchild, Janelle. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. Funeral service Monday 11 AM at Werness Brothers Funeral Chapel, 3500 W. 50th St., Mpls. Visitation one hour prior to service.
