Thomas A. Good
Good Thomas A., M.D., 77, of Dayton, Nevada, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at his residence. Dr. Thomas Good was born to Ethel Whitcomb & Roy Herbert Good, February 8, 1925 in Atwater, MN. He graduated from the Minneapolis public schools and then went on to the University of Minnesota to receive his B.A., B.S., M.B. and doctorate of Medicine in 1952. Dr Good taught and conducted research at the University of Utah Medical School, University of Maryland Medical School and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then came West, after having seen the Northern Nevada area in his younger days in the forestry service, to establish a practice in Pediatrics with multiple subspecialties in Infectious Disease and Endocrinology and Metabolism, Genetics, Nephrology, Juvenile Rheumatology and Developmental Disorders. He retired after 45 years of Medical Service in 1997. Dr Good used his talents and compassion to care for the children of Carson City and the surrounding communities. He dedicated a majority of his time to helping children with special needs, both in his office and as the Medical Director for Eagle Valley Children's Home for many years. Along with Medicine, horses and rowing were passions of his. He bred, trained and rode mustangs into his early 70's for the enjoyment and challenge. As an athlete in college and for many decades after, he excelled as an accomplished rower, with medals from many regattas to his credit. He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Good, Ph.D. He is survived by his wife, best friend and buddy, Bobbi Good; his brothers, Roy (Mick) H. Good, M.D. of Faribault, MN and Robert A. Good, M.D., PhD. of St Petersburg, FL; his children and their spouses, Stephanie & Michael Siitari of Long Lake, MN, Samuel & Kiersten Good of Robbinsdale, MN, Gwen & Steve Oberline of Chippewa Falls, WI, Shelley Good of Minneapolis, Tara & Dean Martinelli of Forestville, CA; Sonya Good of Dayton, NV, Zachry Good of Reno, NV; his grandchildren, Kiira Siitari, Tori Siitari, Justin Good, Amber Good, Nicholas Good, Asha Good, Dante Martinelli and Baby Boy Martinelli to arrive in October. Services will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2002, 1 PM at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith, 833 N Edmonds Dr. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues.
