Oliver Alice E. (nee Casey), age 90, of Minneapolis. Alice died peacefully on Tues., June 11, 2002 at Walker Methodist Health Care Center. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Norman; brother, Byron J. Casey of Owatonna; cousins, Amy M. Casey and Edith Casey. Survived by stepson, Rick (Ardell) Oliver of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Mildred Casey of Owatonna, MN; nephews, John (Marian) Casey, Patrick (Mary) Casey, Edward (Marissa) Casey; niece, Amy (Rick) Casey-Paal; cousins, Veronica Casey, Blanche Casey and Tom (Molly) Casey. Alice was a graduate of St. Cloud Teachers College and St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She entered the Naval Reserve as a nurse during WWII and retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 28 years of service. Alice and her husband Norman, a Navy dentist, enjoyed their life in the Navy and they lived on many Navy bases in the U.S. and abroad. Alice enjoyed gardening, photography, the outdoors, traveling with her husband and family, and all forms of music. She played the piano throughout her life and was a member of the Normandale Choral Society. Visitation Thursday, 5-7 pm at Werness Brothers Chapel, 3500 W. 50th Street. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 11 am, with visitation one hour before at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5029 Zenith Ave S., Mpls. Interment at St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Jordan.
