Hansen Kristofer S., 38, West Seattle, WA, died July 6. Survived by parents, Pat and Dick Hansen; sisters, Kari (Mary Mahoney) and Sara (Dan Snyder); nieces, Cailey, Grace and Hannah; nephews, Jake and Mason; grandparents, Jean and Dick Salisbury; godparents, Shirley and Roger Vegdahl; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kris was active at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (41st and Lyndale South, Mpls.) during his youth. He graduated from Edina High School in 1983, and from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) with a BA in Social Work in 1989. His passions included riding the rails, enjoying eclectic music and caring for the homeless. He was a social worker at Luther Hall (Lutheran Social Service of ND) for five years working with troubled youth. He then worked as a welder in shipyards in New Orleans LA, St. Petersburg FL and Seattle WA. Kris was recovering from a work-related back injury at the time of his death. He struggled with depression for much of his life, resulting in his death. A memorial service will be held at Spirit of the Lakes United Church of Christ, 2930 13th Avenue South, Minneapolis, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15th. Visitation will be at the Church for one hour preceding the service. Memorials preferred to Crossroads Aftercare Program, 2823 Wayzata Blvd South, Minneapolis MN 55405, or donor's choice.
