Kenneth Schlenker
Schlenker After a long battle with cancer, Kenneth W., 81, died peacefully at Texas Terrace Care Facility in St. Louis Park, MN. Ken was a charter member (46 years) at Peace Presbyterian Church, a retired administrator from the OB GYN Dept. at U of MN and an active volunteer and cribbage player at Lenox Sr. Center. Ken's bass voice, heard in numerous choirs and groups, along with his love of music, will be remembered always. Ken is survived by his daughter, Terri (Mike) Haakenson; son, Jeff; grandchildren, James (Michele), Jennifer, Justin Haakenson, and Kelly Schlenker; great- grandchildren, Heather Dehmer and Cole Haakenson; brothers, Ralph (Charlette), Larry; sisters, Marge Robison, Gladys (Everett) Kirkman; special friend, Jeanne Nelson. Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Stege); parents, John and Rose; brother, Jim; and sister- in-law, Barbara. Special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Texas Terrace for making Ken's final days happy ones! He will be greatly missed! Visitation 6:30-8 PM Thursday at Gearty- Delmore Park Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave at Excelsior Blvd. Memorial service 1 PM Friday at Peace Presbyterian Church, 7624 Cedar Lake Rd, St. Louis Park.
