Thomey, Charles Nicholas Passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by parents, Marion and Pierre Thomey and brother, Pierre "Laddie" Thomey. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay; sister, Marianne Vivino; children, Perry (Teri), Nick (Katie), Cathy Berigan (Jim), Chris (Kim); grandchildren, Emily, Claire, Jack, Charlie, Melissa, Mary Kate, Rudy, Lilly, Molly, Maddie, Maeve, Joe and Nora. Chuck was a 1954 graduate of Saint Cloud Cathedral and 1958 from Saint John's University where he proudly played on John Gagliardi's early football teams. Chuck and Kay were residents of Bloomington for 54 years where they raised their four children. Chuck opened a Standard Oil service station in Mendota Heights in 1967 and retired in 1998. Chuck loved interacting with his customers and growing with the local community. The family spent every summer weekend at the cabin on Grand Lake, hosting friends and relatives with food and cheer. An avid outdoorsman, Chuck taught his children and grandchildren that any day in the duck slough or deer camp were the best of days. After retirement Chuck and Kay spent many evenings proudly watching their 13 grandchildren compete in all their sporting events. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday, March 1 at St Bonaventure Catholic Church, 901 E 90th St, Bloomington, MN. Funeral service will be at 11 AM Monday, March 2 at St Bonaventure with visitation at 10 AM. Luncheon to follow the funeral service. Memorials will be donated to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
