Thompson Vivian, age 91, was born May 13, 1911 near Wheaton, MN and died May 12, 2003 in Bishop, CA. Vivian attended Moorhead State Teachers College and spent many years as a teacher. After marrying Ward Thompson, she helped raise twin teenage stepdaughters and worked in their St. Louis Park hardware business. Vivian treasured her family and friends and enjoyed many activities at Westwood Lutheran Church. She was a classy lady in all she did - from her personal appearance to her gracious entertaining. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years; two brothers, Ted and Ray Nelson; and a nephew, Stuart Nelson. She is survived by stepdaughters, Joy (Gene) Gillette of Bishop, CA and Judy Lambas of Post Falls, ID; brother-in-law, John Borry and sisters-in-law, Marie Nelson, Marian Thompson, and Ardie Borry, all of the Minneapolis area; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park, MN on Friday, July 11 at 2 PM. The private interment service will be at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice.
