Peter A. Randall

Randall Peter A. Randall, of Edina, age 72, died June 29, 2003 as a result of a stroke. Survived by loving wife, Diane Syme; sister, Jenella Slade (James); niece, Clare Allyn (Dick); children of first marriage, Holly Randall and Melissa L. Randall, Psy D; step children, Cindy Syme, Charlotte Mason (Paul), Alec Syme, and extended family, Lai and Danny Ying; grandchildren, Joey and Sarah Dusosky, Samantha and Colin Mason, Celia and Spencer Syme, Kelvin and Brenden Ying; plus many nieces and nephews. Graduated Washburn H.S. `48 and Harvard `52, with advanced degrees from U of M and Stanford. He spent 2 years in Korea with the US Army, and 11 years with Continental Oil Co. including 2 years in London. He worked at Dain Bosworth in Corporate Finance for 22 years, taking early retirement at 59. Fluent in French, he enjoyed years of world travel with his wife, and indulged his passion for gardening, cooking, fishing, hunting and wood- working. He gave his time generously to the American Diabetes Assn Gift of Hope Program as board member and Chairman. Pete is remembered for his sharp mind and modest demeanor, love of life and family, and for his gentle puns and endearing sentimentality.
