Page Mildred Fern (nee Heinselman). Millie was born on November 16, 1917 in Duluth, Minnesota, and passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2003 after a determined and courageous battle with cancer. She received her B.A. and teaching certification from the University of Minnesota, and Master's degree in Education from Michigan State University. She taught for many years in the Grand Rapids Public Schools and dearly loved her job as "teacher of children." Her family was the center of her love and attention, but hobbies and interests were very important to her and included reading, traveling, history and world affairs, the theatre, and collecting antiques. She was an antiques dealer since retiring from teaching in 1985, and was affiliated with both the Plaza Antique Mall in Grand Rapids and Tulip City antiques in Holland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1957, her parents, Everett and Helena Heinselman, her brother, Miron, and her sister, Mary. She is survived by her sister, Harriet (Gummie) Sarkaria of Santa Rosa, CA; and her sister-in-law, Frances Heinselman of St. Paul, MN; her children, Betsy Page of San Francisco, CA; Tom (Joanne) Page of Sacramento, CA; Nancy (David) Pikaart of Alto, MI; and Richard (Christine) Page of North Bay, Ontario, Canada. She has eight beloved grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews and their families; and many dear and treasured friends. Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Werness Brothers Funeral Home, 3500 W. 50th St., Mpls., MN. Interment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
