Garven Mabel Frances Garven 10/30/17 - 8/18/05 Passed away suddenly at the age of 87 in Rotonda West, Florida. Preceded in death by son, Tom, and husband, Ernie. Survived by daughters, Judy (Kip Rickel), Jane (Don Prather), Renee Garven, and Peggy Garven (Jim Prante); sons, Tim Garven (Alyona) and Bob Garven; daughter-in-law, Deena Garven. Survived by grandchildren, Tara, Tad, Tina, Tyree, Tom, John, Deanna, Tim, Erin, J.J., Jason, Alexis, Casey, Cory, Bryan, and Britta. Survived by great- grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Krysta, Tayton, Travis, Kyle, Alex, and Jacob. Mabel was loved and respected by all. She was truly the "wind beneath the wings" of her successful husband, Ernie, a musician and writer of the Hamm's Beer Jingle "From the Land of Sky Blue Waters", she supported and motivated 7 very successful children in their national level sports endeavors in speedskating and in their business endeavors at Garven Inc.; she rarely missed a baseball, softball, soccer game or ballet of her grandchildren and was always the smiling, proud grandmother faithfully in the stands cheering them on with such pride. Mabel was a true friend and will be sadly missed by many lifelong friends, especially Frances Peterson and Helen Hillstrom. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was primary in her life and she set a beautiful example for all her knew her. Visitation Thursday, 8/25, 6-8 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Ave S., Mpls. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 8/26, 12:30 PM at The Church of the Annunciation, 509 W. 54th St., Mpls, with visitation 1/2 hour prior. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
