Swedberg C. Mavis age 76 of Golden Valley. Died August 5, 2005. Preceded in death by husband Mahlon. Survived by children, Debbie Seemann & husband David, Mark & wife Patty, Kristin Corlett & husband Tom; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) and Ann Seemann, Sascha, Nicholas and Rachel Swedberg, Tim and Katie Corlett; sisters, June (Sherman) Luppens of San Diego, CA and AnnaMae Palm of Nielsville, MN; brother-in-law, Don Sennett; other loving family and friends. Mavis was a 1950 graduate of the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. She had a very fulfilling career spanning the evolution of the Swedish Hospital to Metropolitan Medical Center and the Hennepin County Medical Center. In retirement, she was a volunteer extraordinaire- serving on the Board of Directors for the Swedish Hospital Alumnae and the Metropolitan Medical Center Historical Library and volunteer and past officer of the Metropolitan Medical Center Service League. One of the highlights of her recent years was being instrumental in the creation of the statue honoring graduates of the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing now on display at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. Memorial service Thursday 2 PM at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church, 4735 Bassett Creek Drive, Golden Valley with visitation 1 hour before service. Private interment Fort Snelling Cemetery.
