Wachter David H. Wachter, age 82, longtime resident of Richfield, formerly of West St. Paul, grew up on farms in Dakota County. Preceded in death by wife, Ollie; parents, Herman and Ruth (Senecal); sister, Ruth Elaine Hooper; and brother, Raymond. Survived by son, Tim of Mpls; daughter, Cheryl Bernstein (Jim) of Mpls; brothers, Norman (Gladys) of Apple Valley, Allen (Maryalice) of Farmington, Howard (Ceanne) of Montrose, AL, Larry (Diana) of Nicosia, Cyprus; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also survived by second wife, Marion Jenkins Wachter of St. Louis Park Plaza nursing home. David owned his own construction company for many years and served in the US Navy in the Mediterranean during World War II. He continued his service in the Seabees and retired after 30 years in the Naval Reserve. Long-time member of Wooddale Baptist Church of Richfield. Current member of Cross of Glory Baptist Church of Hopkins. A special note of thanks to nephews Gary and Steve Wachter and to the wonderful caregivers at Heritage of Edina and the Fairview Hospice program and his many friends at Heritage. Funeral service Tuesday, June 24, 11 AM at Washburn-McReavy, Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Hwy 100 at Vernon Ave. Visitation Monday, June 23 from 4-8 PM at Washburn- McReavy and 1 hour prior to service.
