Ramler LaVerne Gregor Ramler, 67 of Chaska, MN, died on 6/17/03 at the N.C. Little Hospice home in Edina, MN, surrounded by family and friends. Vern fought a noble battle with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease) for two years. Beloved father, coach and teacher, Vern spent the majority of his professional career in education. Born in Farming, MN, Vern graduated from Albany High School, received a Bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State and a Doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota. Vern is survived by three sons: George and his wife Renee (of Chaska) with grandchildren Simone, Charlie, Derek and Josie; Mike and his wife Cindy (of Shakopee) with grandchildren Benjamin and Matthew; and Kurt (Tiffin, Ohio). In addition, Vern is survived by his special friend Jeanne Kiel; seven siblings; and ex-wife, Judy Ramler. Vern thoroughly enjoyed sports - he was an excellent pitcher and batter in his youth - and also coached basketball, hockey and his favorite- baseball. He had a passion for outdoor activities, but his favorite was fishing - he especially enjoyed fishing on lakes near Richmond, MN and Bemidji, MN. Memorial Mass Friday, 1 pm, with visitation two hours before at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie. If so desired, memorials to N.C. Little Hospice or A.L.S. Association.
