Merna Nadine Tierney Lewis

Lewis Merna Nadine Tierney, born on an Easter Sunday, April 4, 1926; left this world on Ascension Day, June 8, 2003. A gifted vocalist and pianist, she attended Julliard School of Music (NY), graduating from Wheaton College (1948) with a music degree and sang weekly on WMBI Radio (Chicago). Merna was generous with her talents, performing and teaching for most of her life. A devout Christian, she taught Bible studies, Sunday school classes and was very involved in Christian Womens, PTA and her community both in Minnesota and in North Carolina where she relocated with her family in 1968. Merna shared 55 beautiful years in love and faith with her husband, Lee. Celebrating her life are their children Greg (Rose), Cynthia, Wendy and David (Jan); grandchildren, Michael, Hannah, and Kitty, Mary Lewis, and siblings, Jean, Sally, and John and their families, together with the many friends who enriched her life of 77 years.
