Groenhoff Dr. Edwin L., age 77, died on May 28, 2002 at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. He was born August 11, 1924 in Alden, IA to Fred and Edith Nicolet Groenhoff. Ed pastored several churches in his long ministerial career, including the early years of the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church. He published eight Christian books and numerous articles and devotionals. His oil paintings hang proudly in many homes. Ed earned an EdD degree at the University of Coloardo, Boulder, and taught at Macalester and Bethel Colleges & Mankato State University. In 1971, Ed became Secretary of Publications for the national Evangelical Free Church Conference, a position he held until his retirement in 1984. Ed and his wife, Viola, made their retirement home in Crosslake, MN, spending the winter months in Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by Viola, his wife of 53 years. He is survived by an aunt, Vera Groenhoff of Iowa Falls, IA; several cousins; and dear, close personal friends too numerous to mention. Services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 11 AM at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church in Crosslake, MN, and at Iowa Falls, IA on June 5. Interment will be in Alden, IA.
