Schmit Walter J., age 82, of May 26, 2002. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Ruth Schmit; and sister, Betty Kipka. Survived by wife, Eraine; daughters, Emily (Michael) Laskin of Studio City, CA and Amy (Gerry) Hope of Eagan; son, John (Deborah Appleman) of St. Paul; sister, Rita Shields of Menomonie Falls, WI; grandsons, Nicholas & Joseph Laskin; nieces and nephews. Graduate of Harding High School and St. Paul College of Law (now William Mitchell), longtime member of 3M Law Dept. and former Assistant Secretary of 3M Co.
