Brink Mary Stewart Brink of Minneapolis died on May 23, 2002 at the age of 84 at Spooner (WI) Health Systems. She was born February 3, 1918 at Superior, WI to William and Esther (Cronk) Stewart. She graduated from Superior State Teachers College in 1939. She taught elementary school in Washburn, WI, later was employed by E.I. Du Pont De Nemours Co. in Wilmington, DE and Minneapolis, MN and then taught at Sheltering Arms School in Faribault, MN until her retirement. She married Earl W. Brink on August 7, 1947. Mr. Brink was an architect and founder of Prestressed Concrete, Inc. in Minneapolis. The couple traveled extensively, often including her brother, Charles, for whom she was a lifelong caregiver. They were active in Downtown Episcopal Church of Gethsemane in Minneapolis. She enjoyed opera and was a docent at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Her husband, Earl and her brothers, Charles and William Stewart preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Chastain of Middleton, WI. Surviving nieces and nephews include children of William and Elizabeth Stewart: ``Buzzy'' (Jon) Harkness, Gordon, WI, Sarah Morgan, Alpine, TX, Katherine (Bruce) Houghton, Ishpeming, MI and William Stewart III, Spooner, WI; children of Gerald and Kathryn Chastain: Elizabeth Rainwater, Goodslettesville, TN and G. Woodrow Chastain of Middleton, WI. Surviving nieces and nephews also niece children of Earl's sister, Doris (George) Root of Minneapolis: Jennifer (Douglas) Bezek, Watertown, MN and Jeffrey Root, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation at 10 AM and a memorial service at 11 AM will be held at Downtown Episcopal Church of Gethsemane in Minneapolis on Wednesday, June 12. A committal service will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly #6.
