Gardner Marguerite P., age 56, of Mpls, slipped away from this world on May 23, 2002 surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, James & Ariette Gardner. Marguerite ``Margie'' was born and raised in Fairmont, MN. She continued her education and graduated from the University of MN with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physical Therapy. She practiced as a P.T. and then accepted a teaching position at the U of M for 21 years, retiring as an Asst. Professor in October of 1999. Active in the MN Chapter of APTA and past president of Alpha-1 National Assoc. Margie was a recipient of a single lung transplant in Feb. 1992. She will be deeply missed by brothers, Michael (Judee), Fr. Tom OFM; sisters, Jayne Gardner; a niece, a nephew, numerous cousins, caring friends and her special little dog, Willie. Memorials preferred to U of M Physical Therapy Program and Alpha-1 National Assoc. Memorial service 4 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Cremation Society of MN, Mpls Chapel. Visitation 1 hour before service. Margie was a charming, compassionate and outgoing person.
