Comeford Neil J., otherwise known as Green Shoes, Papa-Whale, Pappa-son, Fred, Herman, Chompers, George, King of the Road, Chef and Dad. How we will miss him! Mr. Comeford, a former WWII Veteran, home builder, husband, father, grandfather and friend of many, died on May 22, in Dallas, TX after complications from surgery. Neil fought a tough fight against 3 different types of cancers and throughout showed us his gift of humor, optimism, faith and love. He was 76 years old. Born in Rockford, IL, Neil's zest for life is evident in the many places he lived throughout his life: Milwaukee, FL, Denver, CO, Santa Fe, NM and Dallas, TX. His many hobbies he adored are: skiing, tennis, fly-fishing, sailing, birds, squirrel chasing, cooking roasts, labeling, reading, investing, computers and fillow fights with his grandchildren. Preceded in death by first generation Irish parents, Alice & Cornelius; brother, Tommy. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Carolyn Brown; daughters & sons-in-law, Jeanne Comeford & Zig Schuessler of St. Paul, MN, Cathy Comeford of Eugene, OR, Patty Comeford & Joe O'Shaughnessy of Mpls., MN; step-sons & wives, Jeff & Deanna Brown of Conifer, CO, Kevin & Becky Brown of Bedford, TX, Chris & Sandy Brown of Bedford, TX; 10 grandchildren; best bud, Ken Behling of Honolulu, HI; and many other admirers. Remarks wife Carolyn, ``Ten-Four - see you in Heaven''. A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon at St. Monica's Catholic Church on Fri., May 24, 2002.
