Taswell Elaine, age 74, died June 11, 2003, after a long- term illness with Multiple Sclerosis. A native of Jersey City, NJ, she graduated from Wellesley College in 1949, with a degree in mathematics and attended graduate school at Columbia University and New York University. She subsequently taught anatomy at New York University Dental School and later was pursuing a doctorate degree in Minnesota when she became ill. An avid outdoorsperson, musician, and pursuer of the arts, she was multi-lingual and a strong advocate for civil rights. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Elsie Siegler. She is survived by her former husband, Dr. Howard F. Taswell (Beryl Byman) of Chicago, IL; her six children, Amy Taswell (Jim Moscowitz), Ruth Taswell and Laura Taswell Wicks (Gary) of Minneapolis, MN, Carl Taswell (Julie Neidich) of Folsum, CA, Eric Taswell (Anne) and Steven Taswell (Elizabeth Jo Lampl) of Bethesda, MD; 11 grandchildren, Tali, Kira, Dori, Samantha, Eliana, Joshua, Jacob, Ethan, Isabel, Zoe and Koby, and sister, Naomi Savage (David) of Princeton, NJ. Funeral service FRIDAY, 11 AM, ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 W. Hillside Lane, Minnetonka. Memorials preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter; Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA; Mayo Medical School, Rochester, MN; American Civil Liberties Union, and Planned Parenthood, MN Chapter.
