Rev. L. Dale Franson

Franson The Reverend L. Dale Franson "Leland Dale Franson", age 76, of Centuria, Wisconsin and Sarasota, Florida, died May 31, 2003 at his residence on Long Lake in Centuria. He was born December 11, 1926, in Wolverton, Minnesota, the son of Carl and Hulda Franson. Pastor Franson was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and Northwestern Seminary. He faithfully served Lutheran congregations in Minnesota and Wisconsin: Holy Nativity in Crystal, Mn; St. Mark's in Cudahy, Wi; Epiphany in Milwaukee, Wi; Fristad in Centuria, Wi; and Saron in Ashland, Wi. Pastor Franson's commitment to social ministry led him into service on numerous boards and agencies of the wider church, including a staff position with Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Dale is survived by his wife, Sandy; his sons Peter (Patricia), David (Denise), and Paul (Deborah); Sandy's sons Seth (Laura) and Troy (Heather) Schoonover and her daughter Hope (Daniel) Hefty; and 12 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lois, a son Lee, a daughter Carol, and a brother Ralph. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fristad Lutheran Church in Centuria, Wi (501 State Highway 35) with the Reverend Mel Rau officiating. Disposition of ashes will be in Fristad Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch will be served following the service. Family notes may be sent to Sandy at P.O. Box 111, Centuria, WI 54824.
