John Marcus MacKenzie

MacKenzie John Marcus MacKenzie, age 85, of Chanhassen, former long-time resident of Excelsior. Beloved husband, father and grandfather went home to our Lord on June 2, 2003. Former co-owner of C.W. Olson Manufacturing. His career spanned 50 years. He held teaching positions in mechanical, industrial and milling engineering as well as manufacturing management positions at Toro, Control Data and UFE. He devoted over 20 years to serving his church as a Catholic Deacon. An active volunteer until his death in SCORE, Minnetonka Life Care Center and Dinner at Your Door. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dale MacKenzie; and son, David MacKenzie. Survived by children, John (Julie) MacKenzie of East Lansing, MI, Linda MacKenzie of Excelsior, Chris MacKenzie (Bob Smith) of Mpls., and daughter-in-law, Kay Roth of Madison, MN; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 10:00 AM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 680 Mill St., Excelsior (952-474-8868). Visitation Friday 5-8 PM, with prayer service at 7 PM AT THE CHURCH, IN THE GATHERING SPACE. Also one hour prior to service on Saturday. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Shorewood.
