Elaine H. Engelsgjerd

Engelsgjerd Elaine H., 85, formerly of Mpls., died Tues., May 13, 2003 at Fall Creek Valley Care Center in Fall Creek, WI after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Mpls., MN on March 27, 1918 the daughter of Haakon & Berthena (Gulla) Nelson. Elaine married Reubin Engelsgjerd in Pierre, SD in 1936. Reubin passed away in 1991. Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Harold) Jones, Indian Springs, NV; 3 sons, David (Mary Jane), Atlanta, GA, Sander (Jan), Chippewa Falls, WI and Michael (Sharon), Midland, MI. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Nelson; 3 sisters-in-law, Esther Nelson, Coleen Nelson and Olga Foldon; and many friends. Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma Morris; and brothers, Oriville, Howard, Robert and Raymond. Graveside services will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Sat., June 7, 2003, with Chaplain Kathleen Burns of Allina Hospice, officiating. Memorials are preferred to Allina Hospice, St. Paul, MN; Northwest Hospice, Eau Claire, WI; or Fall Creek Valley Care Center, Fall Creek, WI.
